David Fernandes started photographing his native Gloucester when he was in middle school and continued taking the photography courses in high school. Capturing the skies and the wonderful light of Cape Ann has inspired him to continue his photographic education with the beautiful light show the season’s provide year round. Beautiful skies and water are recurring themes in David’s images. His saturated images show the drama of light and textures in still life. While there is a delicacy that can be found in his quiet moments with a seagull or boat on calm waters.
David is an award winning photographer,, A member of Rockport Art Association, and His work has been shown at Newburyport Arts Association and also Marblehead Arts Association..including Juried shows at the “Where is it?” Exhibition at the Matz Gallery, Gloucester, MA by jurors Susan Oleksiw and Christy Park. David’s work has also been shown at the Magnolia Library Art show where he won best in show and also at the Art at the Schoolhouse in Magnolia where he also won best in show last two years,, and also at State of the Art Gallery, Cape Ann Coffees and Cape Ann Giclee in Gloucester, MA.
